5 Ways Bullet Journaling Can Help You Organize Your Life (and Business)

by | Jun 17, 2019

For some of us, staying organized can be one of the most difficult parts of running a business and staying on top of things in life. Where do you even begin when you already have so much piled up? You have to start somewhere and if you are reading this post, then you are ready to switch it up.

You’ve tried countless apps and planners and nothing seems to be sticking. You are already a boss at running your own business, so why not get creative and take the lead on getting organized too? A bullet journal might be just the answer you are looking for! Here’s why:

01. Bullet journaling is fun!

The most effective way to get organized is to make the process fun—something that you actually WANT to do. The best part of bullet journaling is it fuels your creative juices like no other. If you like your work to be artistic, special and customized, then bullet journaling is for you. You will find so much satisfaction from finishing a spread. Completing one page will have you craving to start another. It is a stress reliever and an organizer, all in one.

02. You can make it your own.

You’re a busy woman, and you deserve to give yourself some space. Have you ever tried to plan out your week, or day, in your planner and…run out of space? Either you are overbooking yourself or your planner is too small. Why confine yourself to a predefined box? Your drive and skill are too big to be confined to a little space. With a bullet journal, YOU define the space you need. The sky’s the limit to what you can do.

03. If you can think it, you can track it.

Need to track your finances? Orders? Bills? Sleep? Exercise? A bullet journal can do it all, and guess what else? Staring at that blank page won’t fill you with dread or overwhelm, because you know you can tackle it with purpose and creativity. Not only that, but I bet you will be surprised at how much filling up your journal will keep you organized and all those beautiful pages will be a compelling reminder to keep at it.

04. There’s a spread for every occasion.

Most planners already have yearly, monthly, and weekly spreads, but are they customizable? Do they have enough space? Are you going to remember to use it? All planners are essentially the same, but all bullet journals will be inherently different. Sitting down once a week, once a month, or even just once a year to plan and look ahead, can put you in the right headspace to get everything done and continue being the amazing boss babe you are.

05. No time? Don’t need it.

There’s a myth that bullet journals take up an absurd amount of time. The truth is that filling out your journal can take a long time, IF you want it to. But the whole point of bullet journaling is that you can put as much time into it as you want! If you want to make it perfect and you have time to kill, then by all means, spend hours working on it. If you simply want to organize your week, then take 15 minutes to plan your next seven days. Either way, you are going to reap the rewards of planning ahead.

Getting organized can be hard, but it is necessary if you want to level up your business (or your life). Take a leap of faith and put your schedule into your own hands by starting a bullet journal today!
